Kick start

I'm back and ready to put in much better performances for the rest of the season. Racing this weekend in Hawaii and really looking forward to it. The hard workouts started today and I was not looking forward to feeling the burn again. Once I start, I'm on, and it is a challenge that I have beat.

The main set in the swim was on a 90 second send off, 50yard REC. 8x100 on 1:08, 7x100on 1:07. You get the idea now that it goes down to 1. Solid set and I cracked sub 00 for the first time in a while! 57 low.

Bike was 2.5hr with the main set being 5x9min at boarder line v02

Run was 8 miles with 2x2.5 at 5:20 pace.

Feels good to get through the day.

You have a title to defend and let NO ONE take it from you.
Stay strong.

Glad to see you are up and kicking again. Your workout makes me hurt just reading it . . . but that's why you're the pro! Best is yet to come, James. Hi to Lindsay!

If you don't mind an old tri guy following along with you, I would like to tag along with your blog.

I am totally rooting for you this weekend... Sure Lavaman in not your "A" race and clearly this session looks like no-rest-for the weary... so it will be even cooler to see you tackle this half beat to a pulp...
HAVE a GREAT training week and RACE!!

PS: tomorrow we are running to the end of Energy Lab after an ocean swim. Friday riding the Ironman bike course after masters if you want to come for any of it..

Fantastic performance at Lavaman (1:52-ish). Maybe you did not win it, but only an extra-terrestrial being could have gone faster overall than you did!
