Here is my video of my PRP treatment from the other day. Very, very interesting procedure that makes lots of sense to me. I hope this will help heal the knee so I can get back to doing what I love...competing.
I found the PROLOAUSTIN team after looking for countless hours on the web of all the local PRP docs. Dr. Fullerton was by the far the most passionate Doc out there when talking about PRP. Very knowledgeable guy with a great crew working with him. Check out ProloAustin if you are an Austin resident with any nagging injury that you just can't seem to shake. I am hoping PRP does the trick. I went this route to avoid further injury. The last thing I ever want is to have to go under the knife for surgery. Will keep updating blog about recovery process.
Now just to keep myself relevant, my wife did a little interview with me. Skipping to 3:50 of video will take you into the actual treatment. From there on you can see how the blood is spun, injected by ultra-sound, and then I ask a bunch of questions you might want to know as far as athletes getting PRP treatment.
Procedure was not painful at all and goes by pretty quickly. It was a little swollen and sore on day two but nothing over a 5/10. Three days in and I have not felt the pain I have been used to feeling and the swelling from this past year has gone down some. Can't wait to see if this work. Hopefully I will be ready to go in two weeks time.
Cheers,
JC
